A match made (almost) in heaven

There are some combinations in life that just work. Fred and Ginger. Morecambe and Wise. Del Boy and Rodney.

Pink Champagne and a slice of Peggy Porschen cake is one such classic combo.

On Thursday I attended a special preview of Peggy’s new Floral Wedding Cake Collection, at the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park.

Peggy Porschen cake

Peggy Porschen is a name synonymous with the best wedding cakes money can buy.  So if there was ever an occasion where a glass of Laurent Perrier Rosè was utterly appropriate, this was it. Peggy’s cakes always taste almost too good to be true (they look that way too!) but team them with Rosè Champagne and, well, life doesn’t get much sweeter.

Peggy Porschen’s bespoke cake company is based in Belgravia, London. Find out more here: www.peggyporschen.com
Buy yourself a bottle! Laurent Perrier Rosè, £58, at M&S: www.marksandspencer.com
PS The non-edible flowers were arranged by the fabulous Nikki Tibbles at Wild at Heart.
